Best Pizza in New Zealand

New Zealand's best pizza can be found in Napier, according to the judges of a pizza national competition.

You'll find it at Pizza Pazzi, owned by Milan-born Paulo Pancotti, who won the New Zealand section of the 2011 Global Pizza Challenge.

His prize-winning New Zealand pizza was Bestiale (Italian for 'awesome'), and its key ingredients are buffalo mozzarella, Parma ham and parmesan. He also makes a tasty Hawkes Bay pizza, using local ingredients such as local lamp, feta and artichoke.

Pancotti says one of the secrets to the success of his pizza is using the excellent local water when making dough.
